You May Have A Toxic Colon!
v Many health professionals now believe that 80% of all disease
processes begin with a toxic colon.
v One of those diseases, colorectal (colon) cancer, is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in the United States, according to the Mayo Clinic.
v Approximately 90 percent of people who develop colon cancer are over the age of 50.
v Colon cancer usually grows very slowly, and may be present in your body for many years without producing recognizable symptoms.
v The American Cancer Society recommends colorectal screenings starting at age 50. You can also take additional steps to keep your colon healthy, such as doing a colon cleanse.
v Also, a diet high in fiber, whole grains, fresh fruits and vegetables, and plenty of purified water will help maintain a healthy colon. (See “Basic Anti-Aging NutritionTips” and “Basic Purified Water Tips”.)
How can a colon cleanse help?
Ø If the body is unable to rid itself of unusable food waste, environmental toxins, dead cells and other metabolic waste due to a build up on the colon wall, free radical damage increases and all systems of the body may be harmed.
Ø This accumulated build-up on the colon wall over the years inhibits muscular action, causing sluggish bowel movements, constipation and inflammation, and limits the ability of the colon to pass wastes and toxins through quickly.
Ø A good colon cleanse can remove this build-up as well as kill parasites (see below) and other bacteria. It can also provide the body with probiotics (good bacteria).
How do I do a colon cleanse?
Ø A colon cleanse can be done by you alone at home or anywhere. With a colon cleanse you drink liquids and take herbal supplements, so it works from the inside out, moving the toxins out of the body in the normal way the bowel functions. Colonics, also known as colon irrigation and colon hydrotherapy, on the other hand, is usually performed by a colonics practitioner, and is a method of washing out the colon using warm, purified water from the outside in, similar to an enema (being a Baby Boomer, I’m sure you know what THAT is!) A colon cleanse (versus colonics) is much less invasive, much more private, and is better for your system.
Ø A good colon cleanse could take from seven to fourteen days to complete. You should be able to carry out your regular schedule of work and play without too much inconvenience, although it may be best to do the colon cleanse when you have a light schedule.
Ø A colon cleanse can be beneficial for problems such as Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), Diverticulitis, parasites and worms, gas and bloating, indigestion and constipation, chronic fatigue, and distended abdomen, in addition to other benefits.
Ø Do a colon cleanse at least two times the first year if you’ve never done one before. Then do at least one each year after that.
Ø See this link to “UNDERSTANDING THE DETOXIFICATION AND HEALING PROCESSES,” before you begin your colon cleanse.
Parasites - Many people don’t realize that it’s extremely easy to come in contact with parasites. Contaminated water, undercooked meats, and improperly washed fruits and vegetables, are just some of the common sources of infections. Transmission from pets or other infected persons is also quite common. Overuse of antibiotics further adds to this problem as this can interfere with normal intestinal flora and lower the body’s resistance.
According to Alternative Medicine, The Definite Guide, “A complicating factor of a parasitic infection is that most people who have parasites don’t know it. Medical researchers are beginning to recognize that parasitic infections contribute to a variety of major diseases, including Chron’s disease, ulcerative colitis, arthritis and rheumatoid symptoms, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), and AIDS. A number of digestive complaints, such as diarrhea and irritable bowel syndrome, are now being linked to past or present parasitic infections.”
